Historic Marijuana Bills Approved in Colorado

Mason Tvert of the Marijuana Policy Project - http://www.mpp.org -- appears on a Denver political news program to discuss the Colorado legislature's adoption of the first bills in history to establish a regulated marijuana market for adults.

The three measures were adopted in accordance with Amendment 64, the ballot initiative approved by voters in November 2012. In summary, two of the bills establish the framework for regulations governing marijuana retail sales, cultivation, and product manufacturing. The third bill enacts taxes on wholesale and retail sales of marijuana, which must also be approved by the voters.
